The All-in-One PC is not a new idea, but after a decade of perfecting and now with competitive pricing this technology could be ready to implement into your business or home.

Overview

The All-in-One PC is not a new idea or product, emerging about a decade ago as an expensive, boutique PC for geeks, now gaining momentum in the mainstream as a competitive alternative to the traditional desktop computers. The applications in which businesses employed this technology are numerous; I am talking eateries putting the power to the customer allowing them to order and select food via Kiosk Touch PC. Or warehouse employees sharing a mounted Touch All-in-One to update inventories in real time, and space limited businesses with a need for dozens of computers choosing the space conserving All-in-One to fit their need.  Now that the price is right this technology is ripe for the implementing!

Positives:

  • Built-in everything plus wireless keyboard technology and the only wire to worry about is the power plug.
  • Easy setup and use.
  • Mobile as a laptop because everything is built in and a keyboard is not necessary because of the touch screen.
  • Mountable and space conserving design.
  • Power efficient.
  • Sleek and stylish.

Negatives:

  • Upgrade limitations, aside from some basic upgrades of existing hardware no other additions to the existing functionality can be added to this type of PC.
  • In some models there is a speed sacrifice due to limited power.

To Touch Screen or Not

This is a functionality decision based upon your requirements, aside from the price comparison; a touch screen gives you additional uses for the All-in-One and sets this product above a regular desktop PC. Without the touch screen, the All-in-One still has the entire positives listed earlier; compact, mountable, mobile, etc. So this decision may come down to price.

Price

For a touch screen All-in-One Gateway One ZX Series is the most inexpensive in this type starting at $429.99 and on the other side of the spectrum the HP 610 Quad Series starting at $1,349.99. Sony L series also makes the top of the spectrum for All-in-One mainly because it is the only PC they are making right now and all focus is on the Touch All-in-One starting at $849.99. Non-touch All-in-ones are cheaper Lenovo being the least expensive starting at $399.99 and HP Omni 220 Series topping the spectrum starting at $949.99.Touch All-in-One PC detailsNontouch All-in-One PC Details
